Nikhil’s sister
and his source of unconditional love
They were like twins…had their first sip of wine together…choked over
their first cigarette together…practically did everything together as they
grew up in their sea side mansion. Though he is the younger of the two he behaves
like her elder brother. At times, Anamika feels a little neglected, as Nikhil
is the center of her parent’s attention, but Nikhil more than makes up for
it. They share a bond where a look is enough for them to understand each other.
From their mother, they both inherit love for music and art. Anamika is more academic
and having completed her B.Ed is teaching in a Primary School.
The day Nikhil is arrested her whole life changes. From being the sheltered, overprotected
sister, she overnight transforms into a Woman, an elder sister who will protect
her little brother. |

WHY ‘My Brother…Nikhil’
Sanjay Suri with whom I have acted in Jhankaar Beats came to me with Onir. I read
the script and found it to be a sensitively written sensible script and wanted
to be a part of this film…. The role of Anu is someone who changes from
this bubbly sister to a mature character and spans over a period of five years.
This was something different and an interesting role to play….
“I feel when a lot of good people do something good together with so much
interest, something good has to come out of it.”
